The powdered green tea has been used in the Japanese tea ceremony (Cha-no-yu) for centuries. Matcha is made using pure luxury grade Japanese green tea Tencha leaves, a Japanese tea variety that is shaded beneath special shade covers for 3 weeks before plucking. The shading forces the plants to produce a higher than normal chlorophyll content which gives the leaves a rich green color and high level of antioxidants.
Matcha is prepared in a bowl (chawan) and mixed with boiling water with a bamboo whisk (chasen). This matcha is tasty with frank herbaceous aromas and a slight bitterness.

How to create a tea blend reminiscent of freshly baked apple pie and pumpkins? Our challenge was to omit artificial flavours and truly focus on natural ingredients for our exclusive mix. Firstly, we created a list of spices inspired by traditional pumpkin pie recipes. The now revealed secret to our Autumn Tea is a great deal of spices: : nutmeg, allspice, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom and cloves. Then, we added a subtle touch of orange peels and a sweet hint of vanilla. The core of our blend is Hojicha, a Japanese green tea well known for its roasted leaves. We chose it for its soft notes of hazelnut and chestnut as well as its low caffeine level. Cozy up and appreciate the long aftertaste of autumn spices!
